Ecaz's master woodcarvers are famous across the Imperium, and their finished work fetches prices among the highest of any luxury good the Landsraad trades in. The planet's dense forests supply hardwoods rare enough to exist nowhere else in known space, elacca among them, which reaches far more courts than anything else the world sends out. A planet whose whole worth grows slowly and cannot be moved is a particular kind of prize, and Ecaz has spent its history being wanted by people it would rather not have interested in it. Its artistry stayed a genuine point of pride throughout, which is the sort of thing that reads as charming from a distance and as stubbornness up close.
